Trans/T-Case Removal
Which method of transmission and t-case removal is easier?
1. Motor, Transmission and T-Case out the top 2. Transmission and T-Case out the bottom

until i helped a buddy pull his 305 out, i thought taking the trans off in the truck was hard., it really wasnt. you can reach all the bolts fairly easily. i would try pulling it from the bottom if you have enough room.

put an engine hoist (cherry picker) through the open passenger side door, drop the chain down the transfer case shift lever hole, attach chain at the bottom of the tranny to transfer case adapter, and lower it down. Works really slick, and you don't have to worry about the thing falling off a tranny jack.

I like the cherry picker idea, that sounds like It'd work good.
Next Question: Should I seperate the transmission from the bell housing or take the whole assembly at once?

take the tranny off the bellhousing. leave the bellhousing to come out with the engine.
