700r4/Converter-etc
This is going on local CL in a few days if nobody on the site wants it.
I have a 2wd 700r4 built by Premier Performance for sale. It ran fine when I pulled it a few months ago. It is the late 80s 30 spline model with a stage 2 package from premier. It has about 45K on it. I also have a brand New in the box B&M lockup Holeshot converter. TCI manual lockup kit, B&M "corvette" kick down valve, assorted GM speedo gears (to calibrate speedo), and the OEM flexplate and a "JM"The Wheel"" solid 163 tooth flexplate. Also, a used good working B&M megashifter and brand new in the box B&M heavy duty shifter cable. I have all the receipts/installation instructions. I would plan to have the trans inspected and freshened up since you have to partially disassemble anyway to install the lock up kit. Price is $600 firm. Prefer local pickup but will ship on your dime. I'm in S AZ. Not breaking it up at the moment. Thanks for looking. |

Re: 700r4/Converter-etc
When you pulled the transmission did it still feel fresh? Was there any issues with it.

Yes, its got a pretty decent kit in it. It chirps the tires on the 1-2 shift. I have been meaning to swap in the lockup convertor and kit for some time, but I rarely drove it (no A/C in AZ) and then I parted the vehicle (87 El camino SS) and got into the K10. It has about 40K miles on it, mostly highway. If it were me, I'd have someone just take a look at it inside, while its partially apart to put the lockup function back in it. I dont know how long good clutch plates last, but they are fairly cheap. If you dont put the kit in it, you will have to use a non-lockup convertor until you do. |
