Looking for a suburban
I'm about to start the hunt for a 3/4 4x4 suburban is their anything I need to look out for when looking at one? I'm going to be lifting it(a lot) I plan on putting 53inch Michelin XZLs under it.

Re: Looking for a suburban
Another question. are the spring for a 3/4 truck the same as a 3/4 suburban?

Re: Looking for a suburban
If you'll be doing much off-road driving with it you might consider putting 1-ton shocks on it as they'll handle the abuse better.

Re: Looking for a suburban
They use the same springs from 73-87 in pick-up that go into the 73-91 Subs/Blazers
There are two different length springs for the rear of 3/4 ton trucks/burbs. I think before 1978 they are all 52" the later option is 56" make sure to check. 1 ton shocks? |

Re: Looking for a suburban
Maybe when they are new, but burbs have more weight over the back end which cause the springs to flatten/weaken out over time. A lot of the half ton Burbs have this problem and some of the really hammered 3/4tons I've seen look like they are draggin a little in the back.

Re: Looking for a suburban
I would suggest whatever year you get and this works for.trucks too, grab the underfender splashguards from an 88-91 suburban-it helps keep dirt/debris from building up and rotting out the cab floor support gussets. It's a small tip but it'll save your sheetmetal!
