i have a 1971 GMC in line 6 the number on the pad near the distriutor is F0909TCD iam wanting to know if this is the original motor or how to look up the number

TCD is a 1970 or 1971 or a 1980 gm 250cid. To find out what year check the date code that is cast in the block on the passengers side. Here is a thread that will help you find the date code. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=356268 Post#5.
