exchange a step side for a fleet side

I have a 67 short box step side that i would like to convert to a fleet side. Can i use the same frame?

I believe that that a frame originally equipped with a fleetside bed has mounting brackets right behind the cab on top of the frame that you will need to remove in order to run the stepside bed.

I have a swb chassis that is originally a stepside. I will check but I don't think it has the brackets I mentioned that a fleetside does.

My step side does have mounting brackets just behind the cab.

I used a Stepside frame on a 68 short wide build a few years ago, I did not notice any difference .

I checked and the stepside does have the brackets as well. I was thinking it didn't.
