POR 15 Help!!

Hi,

I've just applied my second coat of POR-15 and am going to Top Coat with Chassis Coat black.

I'm getting conflicting info. Should i let the second coat of POR tack up and then put chassis coat on? Should i let the POR dry for the night then put chassis coat on? or should i let it dry for the night and then scuff it with a scotch bright pad and then hit it with the top coat.

So confused.

Thanks.

My understanding is that you have to prime or topcoat it while it is still tacky or the topcoat will not stick to it. I would just prime it while it is tacky, then you can put whatever you want on top of that.

Re: POR 15 Help!!

Thanks for the links.

Still a bit on confusion, not finding my answer in them.

I'm using the POR-15 Brand Top Coat, so do i do it while it's tacky, just like i did with the second coat of the POR-15 Base? Or can it go down once it's dry?

Re: POR 15 Help!!

i have always had excellent results by applying topcoat over POR15 while it is still tacky

if you let it dry then you must take the extra step of using thier primer and then the topcoat
