Re: trucks with stripes

The only stripe pictures I have are of the D89 upper body pinstripe.
But here are some pictures of a Hickey shop truck showing panels added to the hood to good effect and period pinstripes way beyond the factory offering.

Re: trucks with stripes

IF you are looking for opinions because you are going to do another truck, I'd place the inside of the strips right where you did on your Dad's truck but maybe add another 4", give or take, to the overall width. This is all, of course, just personal preference.

Re: trucks with stripes

kind of what i was thinking, the next one will be a stock hood and i think wider stripes will look better on it, thanks on the compliments, i really like how it looks, was hard to picture it as we were building it, we just thought of things as we went along, just got back from taking it back to its home, dads really happy with it, the ole 454 is running pretty well , had to test it on our way out there

Re: trucks with stripes

I personally like the Chevelle SS stripe treatment, 2 stripes about 6" wide that stop and inch and a half or so from the front lip of the hood. squared off on the inside corner and radiused on the outside corner and framed with a pinstripe. I think this would look fantastic on a 67-68 cowl hood.
