Picture Request - brake booster -> pedal

adding a brake booster. The push rod / plunger that goes through the firewall to the pedal itself is different than the one that comes with my master cylinder.

my rod is 6-8" with a circle at the end that has a bolt go through it and the brake pedal.

seems all the brake boosters have a stubby 3-4" rod without a hole for a bolt. I'm sure there's a bracket or adapter i'm not aware of. curious if anyone with a brake booster could show me a picture of how it connects to their pedal.

Or is it a different pedal?

1st pic is where the rod connects to an adapter, which is mounted around the middle og the pedal shaft. the left side of the bracket hit a bumper to keep tge pedal up. 2nd pic is the upper mount on the pedal shaft. The rod coming off the brake pedal shaft is bolted to a support by the bolt in tge 3rd pic.

It was too dark by the time i got home and not worth teh hassle of taking a light out to it (cant drive it, i ripped hte driveshaft out to replace the carrier bearing).

Going by memory, i think i might have to make a mount or adapter for it.

It seems your plungers/rods are different than mine, or you have an adapter i don't have or havent found.

a bit annoyed since i went out of my way to find a brake booster with that specific rod/plunger and i get the same one i had found elsewhere. oh well, will just have to find a way to make it work.


i didn't properly try yet, but maybe i can remove the plunger from teh brake booster and recycle the plunger i have from the master cylinder.

The best I recall......Manual brakes and power brakes not only use different plungers, the plungers are set a different angles for power vs manual. Manual brake plungers are at a straight line between the master cylinder and the pedal, power setups have the plunger going upward to the booster.
