Pull an axle and count the splines. Going to have to do it anyway.

What axle do you have? HO52/72s have a 10.125" ring gear.

its an 8 lug 10 bolt front. its an 8.5 ring gear, it came out of the same truck the had that my 14bff.

Oh,ok. For some reason I automatically assumed rear...my bad. I'm not sure but I believe they all are the same spline count. No changes that I know of. But,I've never taken one apart and can't answer how many splines. Did you talk to whoever you want to buy from? They could confirm if they are all the same or not. I'm assuming you don't want to tear into it until you have everything you need.

I've got a 6 lug 10 bolt GM front and it has 28 splines. Not sure if this helps.

28 or 30 depending on pre or post 1989. Smart $ is pull and check as stated above.

Could also have i think 32 splines but i think that was in the early 90s ones i think mine has that i never did check it after swapping in a d60

well im just getting everything i need together, cuz im putting one tons in. so ill just have to pull a shaft, im stilling waiting on some 40s on a 16.5 rim to come around anyway .the lockers only come in 28 or 30 spline, idk lol
