I think chevybuilder18's asking about what shaved means.

In this case, Metalshapes shaved the tail gate by making sure that there are no handles, hinges, hardware, bolts, etc left on the tail gate. It comes out smooth all around, so it's shaved.

@Metalshapes:
Looks great! If I can ever get enough time to do what I want, I'll have to come find you so you can teach me how to do body work and lead.

I like that a lot. I've been running that idea around in my head for a lil while now so it's pretty nice to get a visual of the end result. Nice job on it.

[QUOTE=Metalshapes;5708568]The first thing I did was I went to the salvage

From.first glance at the tailgate I didn't really like the way it looked , but seeing it on that square it looks badass. You did a great job, I like the way you think

Got me thinking, reversed would be a conversation piece.
I read your post and thought to myself that you might be right. Then it hit me all of a sudden and wondered if this would be what you were getting at? These are of my '49 chevrolet deluxe that im building a custom out of. Long story short my wife has a '49 chevrolet pick-up that she is building and she bought a new tailgate so I cut hers up and and installed it in the back of my car.

Re: Check out what I made......

Someone needs to make a custom tailgate skin like that. That is sexy! I'm thinking that gate would look good with a set of car rallies and some custom houndstooth interior!
