Wiring to Brake Proportioning Valve - Please Help

I updated my brake system to 4 wheel Disc and had to change out my proportioning valve.

1) The new valve has a two male conection point and the old wire only has one female conector. How should I wire this?

2) What is this conection even for?

What is my brown wire for? What should I do with it?

That brown wire lights up the red "brake" warning light on your dash if the PV pin is off-center due to a problem..... not sure what all the conditions are, but very low fluid I think is one (pressure is no longer equal between front & rear).

Can I still run that functionality with my new valve?

Re: Wiring to Brake Proportioning Valve - Please Help

Did the new valve come with any instructions? The old one worked by grounding the brown wire (when there's a problem) so you should be able to rig up the new one to do the same. You said it has two connectors -- must be an internal switch. First thing is to figure out if the switch is open or closed when normal. If it's normally open, run a ground to one pin, and connect the brown wire to the other pin. That way when there's a problem, the switch will close, grounding the brown wire and lighting the 'brake' light on the dash.

But if the switch is normally closed, it gets more complicated. You'd need to rig up a relay.
