East Side Low Life's 1970 GMC

Hi,

Not my truck, but thought I'd put this up for anyone who remembers former board member East Side Low Life. Here is his 1970 GMC. I believe his family has posted it for sale.

Here's a pic of his repaired steering wheel that he turned into this FAQ truck tech thread.

Again, just sharing what I stumbled across. Not my truck. Just hope it goes to a good home.

Yep,that's good old John's hot rod black longbed. I was just thinking about him yesterday. He had some other nice things as well. These things remaining must be hard to keep around and hard to get rid of.

Re: East Side Low Life's 1970 GMC

I was born and raised in Nanaimo, just moved to Alberta a couple of years ago, and was very fortunate to have know John and spent some time with him before he passed...very cool guy and very passionate about his cars and trucks...and yes he had some very cool stuff!

He was a big time Corvette guy, too, very knowledgeable, and was part way through a restoration of a 1960 fuelie Vette that he had owned for many, many years and it was over the top, to the point where the engine internals had to be NOS or original...it was great to talk with him about it and hear the passion in his voice

Super nice guy, good man, great car guy...I didn't know him for long but am glad I got to meet him

Larry

It's a shame the family doesn't have somebody who wants it. Hope it goes to a good home as well, for 26,000 I'm sure the new owner will appreciate and treat it with care. Very nice truck indeed.

It's still for sale.
Will probably never be sold unless they drop the price, answer the phone or emails and let someone come look at it. I tried to look at at it last year. After a month of no response from my inquiries I gave up and moved on.
THere's more trucks out there for half the price.

Maybe it's in the will that if it doesn't sell it goes to some family member ?? And if I was that whoever I'd make sure it didn't sell too lol. But yeah that price is too high in todays market for sure. If that's not the case well whoever is handling the sale of the truck isn't taking it too seriously if they aren't returning inquiries. I've seen many estate sales and sellers like that in general.
