Question A little help? Bed bolt size

Hello All,
This is my first post on this forum and I'm looking for a little help. I can usually find what I'm looking for but this one is driving me nuts! I have a 68 LWB C10 with a steel floor bed and all I need is the size and count of the bolts that hold the bed sides to the floor, the wheel well bolt size and the size of the bolts that hold the bed to the frame.

I bought this truck with the bed off and in pieces with no bolts at all. I just want to buy the bolts from the hardware store so I can get it on the road as soon as possible. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Re: A little help? Bed bolt size

I understand I can count the holes to get the amount but that's assuming they are all the same diameter and length. Are you saying all the bolts are the same size?

Re: A little help? Bed bolt size

I'm much more familiar with wood beds than metal ones, but LMC has some exploded views as it relates to the bed to frame attachments and other parts.

Also, don't be too concerned with the "right" bolt as much as you need to make sure that the bolt fits the hole.
Grade 8 bolts are best, but you likely don't need that much strength holding the bed down (unless you will be zooming this truck off ramps and jumps!)

I went a lot bigger on the bolts I used to bolt the bed to the frame simply because I had the bolts and the hole was big enough to allow them.

Re: A little help? Bed bolt size

I sure wish I could help you, but I have never had a fleetside bed apart, hopefully some one that has will chime in with more info.

I have no idea how many there are... but, I have a complete Stainless kit I'm not going to use. I'll make you a deal @ $20.00 shipped to you.

Re: A little help? Bed bolt size

They look to be a 5/16" x 3/4" x 16 Carriage Bolts.
Round head with a square neck. Trying to count them in the bag is tough. There is at least 40 Bolts, Washers, Nuts and Lock Washers. Hope this helps
