Identify Please ?

Identify please? It is mounted on the fender wall, right next to the battery. Do I need it, and if so where can I get a new cap for it? The three hose conection are brittle and two of them broke.

Re: Identify Please ?

Its your charcoal canister, basically an emissions item that pulls the fumes from your gas tank. Check your local regulations, but I`m sure you can toss it.

Re: Identify Please ?

Don't need it in Texas if you don't want to keep it, but hold on to it. You never know when someone may want to go all original and may need one for restoration purposes or maybe someone in a very restrictive state may be looking for one.

I learned too late to keep any and all parts pertaining to these old trucks. Lots of parts I wish I still had from 20 years ago when they were still plentiful.

Re: Identify Please ?

DO NOTTTTT just toss it. For someone in CA trying to restore an emissions equipped truck, primarily 72's, it's probably worth a few bucks. So, if by "toss", you mean "sell" then yes, by all means toss it. But don't toss it literally into the trash.

Re: Identify Please ?

Okay...Okay....I think after this refresh on the 72 GMC SG...I will have some toss/sale items. If I wanted to keep it, where can I find a new cap for it at?
