93-2000 Crew Cab Body Line Question
So, I'm curious about something and wanna know if anyone has an answer to this. I've seen '93-'00 crews, that directly behind the back doors, the top bodyline does not follow, but it continues on the bed. I've also seen ones that the bodyline follows all the way through the cab.
Anyone know what's up with this? Like does it depend on where the truck was made or what company put it together?

Re: 93-2000 Crew Cab Body Line Question
I looked at several before purchasing mine and none of them had the body line.

I know I've seen some with and some without. It's weird.

Re: 93-2000 Crew Cab Body Line Question
I've never seen one from the factory that had that bodyline.
The shop responsible for the paint and body on my '91, also built this '00 crew cab dually for a friend of mine... ![]() One of several suggestions I gave that he had done was to put the bodyline back in... ![]() I've never understood how in the world GM could just drop the ball on the bodyline like that, but if I ever own one, that will be high on the list of things to take care of. |

Re: 93-2000 Crew Cab Body Line Question
there is NO body line from the factory. i forget the exact reason but i have read it somewhere.
any time you see the body line such as the silver dually above, it was put there by a body man. we did it to our old dually, and any you see are put in, they did NOT come from the factory like that. |

Re: 93-2000 Crew Cab Body Line Question
There were also a few companies out there building crew cabs before the factory brought them out in '92, so it's possible that some you've seen with the line could be of that variety, though they're extremely uncommon.

Re: 93-2000 Crew Cab Body Line Question
Well this clears that up
I just thought it was weird. Makes me wanna look up why GM didn't put the top bodyline behind the back doors.
