And it isn't my first rodeo either I've had 10 square body 2wd blazers. 6 of those had flip kits, so in response to the question that was asked, Yes you will need a notch.......unless you want to change a bunch of stufff, in which case you may not need it. But if you put on a 6" suspension lift you won't need one either, but that wasn't the question was it?

He said he did a 2wd conversion. The 2wd and 4wd have different hangers both at the front and rear of the leaf spring. They are about 2-3" longer ( hang lower) on the 4wd so a flip would net you 2-3" less than a comparable 2wd setup. So he may get by without a notch.
