help on np203 shifter please
The previous owner installed a 203 into this 72 jimmy. Said he never could get "low" to work. The linkage was not even installed when I got it.
After reading I noticed that getting dirt/grime in the shifter was its weakness, and this thing was mud buggied to and back. So today I took it apart to clean and grease. Now it seems to do even less. Going to twin sticks I do not want to do as I would like to eventually go back to the proper 205 and spending money on this would be just waisting money. 1st. does anyone have a diagram of this thing taken apart, or a link to a video of how to assemble one? Need to make sure I got plates in facing right direction, and I see some "pins", where do the catch onto? 2nd. I need to make sure I have the linkages installed correct. The "c" shaped link bar goes on the large selector on the tc side, and the lower opening on the shifter correct? The strait bar, goes on the little selector, and the higher opening on the shifter? Where are "neutral" positions on the tc? Both strait down? |

Re: help on np203 shifter please
So nobody on the above?
Anyway, I posted in the parts section to buy a different one, and got sent a picture of a different shifter then I have. I google searched finding a picture of both styles, and I am going to post them here. Hoping someone can inform me of why the differences. Diff trans, years, options, etc. |
