removing shifter from 4-spd on 78

Working to remove cab, but not enough clearance in my garage to get over shifter, so it must come off. Those things that look like set screws aren't. How do I get this off? Thanks - Rick

The half moon looking metal ring with a small cutout on top where the shifter comes through, Push down on it and turn it counter clockwise then it will pop up out and so will the whole shifter. It is easier to remove and then put back in if the trans is in N when you first remove it.

Thanks for the tip. I did get it out. Here is a picture that helps make it more clear to the next guy. The things that look like set screws are actually just the posts that hold this cap down. You push the middle part with the rounded top down against a spring to release tension so you can twist the cap.
