Do these colors look factory.

I am not sure what year this truck is. I just seen it doing a google search. The gray looks like it could be the gunmetal but not sure about the blue. Not a very good shot but it is the only one I have.

Re: Do these colors look factory.

I think when I was looking on the internet I searched for 1986 chevy truck or something. I relabled the photo as 1986 for that reason I believe. At first look I thought it was Midnight Blue and Gunmetal Gray.

I have an 85 Silverado that is Midnight Blue and this color looks close but just not sure. I like the two colors together.

I don't think so, maybe on a later truck but the grille looks to early for those colors. Casket colors really didn't get popular until the later eighties or early nineties. I may he wrong though

Re: Do these colors look factory.

Grille is '83/'84, and the front corner of the adhesive stripe is a bit sharp (should be more rounded) but overall those are pretty close to factory colors with the ZY4 paint scheme.

Ive seen several like that over the years although I do agree with Keith that the fender looks like it was repainted due to the position of the two tone.. those are factory colors tho in a factory scheme

So would you agree that this looks like Midnight Blue and Gunmetal gray? My 85 Longbed is Midnight Blue but is has a lighter Silver in the middle of the two tone. That is the only version I have seen myself.

Sorry, casket colors as in the color of a casket. That's what comes to mind when I see the dark metallic colors, or the metallic gold/tan colors. Like you're driving around in a great big coffin!

Being a painter by trade, I like to call them "metallic primer" colors.

Your terminology is probably better... Good think kalbert doesn't work for the GM Color and Trim studio -

The original picture I posted must doesnt quite look like yours. My pic must not be the factory blue or something. I was really thinking about these colors for my next truck. Bummer. I guess I will never know.
