need some opions on wheel spacers

Hello, I'm new to the forum. My truck is a 86 1/2 ton with a 350/400t 4 inch lift(i believe) I was after it for 8 months. My girl friends dad wouldnt come off it but finially he said $1500 and i could take it home. Anyway I been looking around for answers to my question but everything i read is people wanting to run spacers/adapters with low offset wheels. I got some 23s at a great price and they are high offset. i want to run a 2" spacer to set these wheels out to where my 35x15.50/15s are. I posted pics to show what i mean

Re: need some opions on wheel spacers

I agree with motornut, just keep the wheels that are already on it. I have a personal friend that works in the tire business and he says that he wouldn't recommend anyone to run spacers on any vehicle.

So what exactly is your question?

Actually it won't be. It doesn't matter if you have 15x10s with 3.5" backspacing, or 23x10s with 5.5" backspacing and 2" spacers to give an equivalent of 3.5" of backspacing, the leverage on the bearings, steering, etc. will be identical (effects of different tire and wheel weights negligible in this case). His 35x15.5s are already putting a ton of stress on those poor 10 bolts.

I have ran bolt on spacers in several different applications. I had about 50k mi on the 2" spacers on the rear of my 2001 2500HD (to even the track width) with 38x15.50s and routinely towed 10k+, with no issues when I sold it. My 78 K30 has 1.5" up front and 2.5" between the duals out back and has hauled more than that several times, although I don't have near the amount of miles on it.

Re: need some opions on wheel spacers

No offense, but those 23s are ugly! Keep what you have year round or spend your money wisely and buy some other summer wheels. IMO

I also have these thornbirds but they have a little cracking in the side walls. How safe would that be to drive every once in a while?
