I want to sandblast and powdercoat my drivers seat frame but have not been able to figure out how to remove the black plastic knob on the seat adjustment lever without damaging it. Does it turn? Or pull off? Sorry, I thought I had a picture to show. I'll take one tomorrow.

This is a good question. Im leaning to Recaros, but.. I have wondered about this and would also like to know if anyone has the answer.

It pulls off. There is a slot cut into the knob where the adjustment lever pushes into. If you damage it, you can buy a replacement through one of the truck parts companies. The bench and bucket knobs are identical.

I didn't have to content with the plastic covering over the lever, but I used the claw end of my hammer to pull my knob off when I painted the track. It didn't mark up the knob.

A little lube and the knob came off nicely. The plastic covering took more effort but aslo removed well.

When you put the rubber cover back on, it helps to use a heat gun or hair drier to soften it up a bit before putting it on. Just don't get it too hot, it's an old condom

I was wondering the same thing. Going to have several parts powdered coated - would like to have the seat brackets done but wasn't sure how to remove the black knobs. This will help, what about the black knobs on the cowl vent levers? Do they slip on as well or are they twist on?
