New to the Site
Just wanted to say "HI", I have been reading the posts on this site for awhile and have been waiting until I found and purchased my "Midlife Crisis". Now that I made the purchase and the wife has OK'd the complete body off restomod build here I am.
I have purchased an extremely clean (w/the exception of the usual rocker issue) 68 chevy stepside, and thrown in on the deal was a rolling 70' chassis w/cab, bed and a trailer full of OEM extra parts (hoods, hinges, glass, radios, seat, doors, trim, etc) all "New Mexico Desert Sun Baked". Your trucks are all inspiring and I appreciate all the great information, I look forward to contributing what I can. |

Welcome
Hi from soggy western Washington. 68s are great! Sounds like you have a good plan, tear it down and build it up.

Thanks for the "Welcome!"
Looking to do a 3 1/2" - 5" ECE drop. disk front, drum upgrade or disk rear. I like the look of the 17", 18" 20" wheels, don't know yet but will be seeking advise and suggestions. As for the motor a Scoggin Dickey's SB 350/HP?, TCI 700r4, of course all is dynamic and fluid.

I will shoot some pics this weekend and post ASAP.
I am finishing the disassembly on the rolling chassis (70') and will start on the 68' in a week or so. Have rented a 20X50 storage unit to store everything in while the chassis is being built in my Garage/Shop. have the chassis and a 71/72 3.73 rearend that needs to be disassembled then all goes off to the media blasters and then powder coating and reassembly. |
