350 to 700R4 swap
I know this topic has been covered many times, any help would be appreciated.
What is involved in this swap? Any pieces that I should make sure that comes with the transmission from the wrecking yard? The tranny is out of a 3/4 ton diesel. Will this have a 2500 stall? Are there any computeized pieces? Will there be any modifications that need to be done? I heard that there needs to be a rubber ball inserted somewhere, but the source may not be reliable. Thanks

Try this thread in the FAQ section. Lots of good information there. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...threadid=33266 The only ball I can think of is if you place a 5/16"(I think) diameter steel ball above the TCC lock-up solenoid, it will cause your TCC to lock-up almost immeadiately after it shifts into gear (2nd, 3rd & 4th, I think). Mine was done this way when I bought it and I hated it. It lugged the tired old 350. I have since rewired it to only lock in 4th and added the vacuum switch from a late eighties pick-up. Also, a deisel truck may shift way too soon for your liking.
