So Im getting this code on my wifes 2002 Yukon. I look up all the info on the code and find this...

Blocked EVAP Vent Path) Set, Service Engine Soon (SES) Lamp Illuminated (Replace Vent Solenoid a.pdf

I emal my local GMC dealer and ask if this is covered due to there being a bulletin on it.

There reply was to send me a $5.00 off coupon...WTF...???

No it isnt covered unless you are still under warranty, which you are not. I would advise to replace the evap canister as well while you are at it.

Re: P0446 code and SES light...

evap codes can be fun for sure. I was a nissan technician for almost 3 years, and have been at a GM dealership now for a few months. With a code like this i would check the canister, also how many miles on the Yukon?? and do you offroad or drive in the dirt alot. Ive seen on multiple vehicles that the vent hose was clogged up from excesive amounts of dirt, What I've done to many farm, and dairy trucks is ran the vent hose from canister to under the hood and put a valve cover breather on the end of the hose, worked many times

Re: P0446 code and SES light...

Thanks for all the good advice on this...it has around 153000 on the clock and we live in town...doesn't see much dirt at all.
I was hoping that I could just clean the vent line out with compressed air and the canister and filter and that might take care of it...???
It only seems to be an issue when it gets cold out....never in the spring or summer. we replaced the fuel cap also. I have noticed latley that when you go to fill it up with fuel...the handle kicks out before it is all the way full...??? I believe this could be tied to the vent line being plugged somehow...???

vent line is clogged or even pinched. Have you ever had a fuel pump replaced in it? could be the evap line is slightly pinched ive seen that on some cases also

The repair kit listed in the bulletin and the cannister will take care of it. I've done this procedure more times than i can count. The only exception is they want you to route the vent to a position above the trans. I have found it works better to run the hose along the frame then up into the engine bay and mount the vent below the brake booster.
