Confused Leaf and Coil rear which way to go

I am new to this forum and just purchased a 1972 Chevy LB. with intentions on dropping the front with Drop Springs 2 inches and the rear 4 inches. After looking at the rear suspension I have rear leafsprings but then I also have what looks like coilovers. I looked at the spid and it lists G50 heavy rear spring and G70 Rear suspension Leaf Spring. What is my best option for dropping this rearend 4 inches?

Re: Confused Leaf and Coil rear which way to go

there are two easy ways to reach your goal. The first is to flip the axle on the spring giving you about 3 inches and then adding a lowering hanger to give you the full 4 inches and you will probably need a c notch. The second way is to swap to trailing arms and go with 2" blocks and 2" springs or 4" inch springs, might need a notch for this as well. Either way will work just fine.

They do make a coilover shock which is probably what you are seeing.People use them for different reasons mostly is to lift up the back when the stock springs have sagged.
