You're going to think I'm nuts........

I have an '88 RCLB C1500 that has a 4/6 static drop. 2" drop spindles and 2" lowering springs up front with a flipped axle and C-notch in back. It's been a lot of fun and has had certain advantages but I now have need of a "bit" more ground clearance. In fact I need a little more ground clearance than stock and buying a different truck isn't in the cards, I have too much wrapped up in this one, so my plan is to go the opposite direction with 4" lift spindles and stock height springs in front and 1" blocks on a stock rear axle housing with stock rear springs. I'm also going to taller tires so I'll be swapping my 3.73 R & P for a 4.30 to maintain the same final drive ratio.

I'll get spindles for a '93-'98 so I can upgrade the front brakes, I already have the rotors and calipers for that setup. This is strictly for functional purposes, appearance doesn't enter into it in anyway. If it looks dumb so be it, it just has to do the job I need it to do and go where I need it to go. Have I missed anything? Any recommendations or tips? TIA.

Take plenty of "before and after" pics.

I don't know a ton about suspension so can't help you there. Have you thought about trading your truck for one that is more stock? There are a ton of people who want to go lower. It seems like you may be able to upgrade a little in truck if you find someone who really wants a lower truck.

I have no need to upgrade trucks, I like this truck, more importantly the wife likes this truck........... I just need a lot more ground clearance. I've made a lot of mods and upgrades to this truck, including a complete new drivetrain. The AC and heater work great and the cab is solid, bed isn't pretty but it's good enough for my current needs until I find a better one. It will be far easier and cheaper to change the suspension than to start all over again with a different truck that's probably going to need the same things I've already done to this one.
