Transmission ID

I'd like to know what transmission this is and what it may be worth. It was attached to a rolling chassis I bought for a project and I have no use for it.

Re: Transmission ID

Appears to be a Muncie SM465. Though I could be wrong, its short case appearance makes me believe that it is a Muncie.

Yep looks just like my sm465 in my 69, the 465 has the PTO plate on both sides of the tranny.

Re: Transmission ID

Could be a SM-420 or SM-465, but it has something mounted on the back of it. Is it out of a 4X4?

Yes 4x4, it has a NP 205 transfercase on the back.

Re: Transmission ID

The side bars tell its a sm465, the sm420 does not have them.
