trans crossmember

hi guys simple question serious problem. has anyone had to modify their trans crossmember to run the exhaust? i have a 78 suburban and am using camaro headers or so im told thats what they are. the headers dump right out where i want them. only half the pipes hang below the frame. problem is that if i run a straiht peice of pipe from the collector back it hits the trans crossmember. i have the double hump crfossmember but it isnt deep enough to hang the pipe. i dont have a problem modifing the crossmember but would like to see your modified crossmembers first to get a better idea. thanks guys JOE

3/4 or 1 ton double hump and notch the center for the mount.
