My build sheet. I have a few questions.
I have a 1985 K10. Here's my build sheet. Did they really put a 3.08 axle in these trucks? (that is rhetorical)
My real questions are related to the two options below. 1X6Z: Locking Hub Automatic. What does this mean? I've got knobs on the front hubs that say Lock and Free. What do they mean? Sorry for the dumb question. I've never owned a locking hub vehicle before. 1ZY4: Deluxe two-tone paint. My truck is a solid color. Has it been painted? IF it has been painted what two colors was it originally? Here's my build sheet. |

I'm no expert but I'd have to guess that you're truck was Apple Red and Doeskin Tan and came originally with automatic hubs but they shelled and were replaced with stronger manual hubs at some point.

Re: My build sheet. I have a few questions.
yeah i was kinda surprised that my truck (with a sm465) came with 3.08 gears, kinda makes for no get-up-and-go for it but it does make for better mpgs i guess

Agree that the truck was originally Apple Red (primary) and doeskin tan (secondary). One final comment - the actual RPO code is the alpha numeric; the "1" in front is just a dummy character, or placeholder. So - the paint code would be "ZY4", or the rear axle code "GU4" for example. Here's the generic info packet for an '85 Chevy pickup, as found in the GM Heritage Center archives: http://www.gmheritagecenter.com/gm-h...olet-Truck.pdf It will show the ZY4 paint scheme, available color combinations and all kinds of generic specifications you might find interesting.
