My dealership parts guy's daily driver

My buddy is a parts guy at the local GM dealer. I sold this truck to him 2 years ago. When I sold it, it was lowered on rallys with stock hood.

He put the 17s on it and payed my wife to redo the whole interior for him. Goodmark hood. He's done lots of little projects to it that make it a really neat truck.

I bought it for 2400 dollars and felt bad when I sold it to him for 4500 dollars. It's really a neat little truck now, the wheels really make it look great. He usually keeps it cleaner than this though.

My wife did the interior in 2 tone tweed. Looks great in person, and it's 2 years old. Holding up well.

I lowered it 4.5 in the front and 6 in the back. I used my usual combination of Summit springs and various other parts. Has 73-87 spindles on it with updated balljoints. 4 inch rear springs with 2 inch blocks I built. Van tilt column. Small block that I just gathered crap up and built out of whatever I could find. Homebuilt TH350 tranny. It's all low tech, done in my garage and some in his garage too. He's driven it daily for 2 years and almost 60k miles with zero problems.

Those wheels are 17x8 all around. Keep in mind this truck is lowered 6 in back, but those back tires are 31 inches tall!

This is one of those absolutely zero rust trucks that I'm having a harder time finding nowdays.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

He's a great buddy that takes care of me when I need parts......

but, I never understood why he removed the original painted hood for that one. It looked great with the old worn blue hood on it.

It is pretty neat. When I bought it, someone had started to part it out. It had gutted interior, no engine ,tranny, inner fenderwells, bumpers, anything.

I put it together with some parts I had laying around and drove it for about 6 months. It was fine. Then I sold it to him and he did all the little things that really make it neater. The 17 inch wheels or course were the big deal. The new interior, Billet steering wheel, Moon tach on the inside, it all added up to make it a LOT neater.

Under the hood, he used that big Moon air cleaner and powder coated intake and valve covers. Jet-Hot coated headers too. Also, he put in two brand new GM inner fenderwells.

This is one that I let get away. I never took the time or effort to really tweak it and make it fun to drive. Everytime he comes over to the house, I cringe at the truck. You can see my POS in the background in one of the pics. Seeing this truck sure does motivate me to get to crackin on mine and it makes me not want to ever sell one again.
