I put a 82 clip on a 75 cab, way more work than i thought, wiper swap and hood hinges were the big part. But ur doin the opposite so im not sure if its easier or not

Re: will a 1975 front clip fit on a 1981 pick up?
agreed I love the round eyes front swap alot better.
I also second the sticky but I say do 2 one for 73-80 on a 81-87 and then one for an 81-87 front clip on a 73-80 and maybe include the 88-91 setups too. As for pics and snowed in, man do I know that feeling. Dad's 84 has been snowed in my yard for months. it had 4-5 inches on it several times, melted or fell off then came right back, had about 8 inches on it once. Now it's got about 4 and we're gonna get snow all week.

Re: will a 1975 front clip fit on a 1981 pick up?
I need to bring this thread back for more info. How did you guys end up putting the pivot arm on the older assembly ? It seems that the pivot arm sits on some type of bearing swivel style attachment.

Re: will a 1975 front clip fit on a 1981 pick up?
I put the longer style in and older cab. They fit right in and one bolt hole on each lined up perfect. I just had to drill a new hole for each. The the ball and socket type joint on the 75 cab wiper motor hooked right up. If ur putting on the older front end u have To use the shorter post to clear the hood. Probably drilling some new holes but using the entire assembly and attaching to the whiper motor shoul be pretty easy

Re: will a 1975 front clip fit on a 1981 pick up?
If you look at the difference between the pic the 73-80 (bottom red version) is missing that little arm that pivots. I'm trying to figure out how to take it from the top one then I could just bolt this right in

Re: will a 1975 front clip fit on a 1981 pick up?
Thanks for your help Mike. I figured it out. I was trying to take the little arm off of the newer parts. It had to be popped out of its socket. So I don't have to drill anything. You see the part in the pic is what was missing on the older setup.

on the right hand side of this picture what is the yellow painted area that looks like it has been cut out and welded in ? is that something that needs to be done ?
