Door Latch and Lock Problem
Hello, After searching and reading several threads on the door latch and lock problems i still have a different issue. My problem is i have to push on the door to lock it with key. It doesn't matter what position i have the stricker plate in. Just for my own satisfaction a moved the striker as far out as it would go. I still have to push on the door to lock it. This is with my driver and passenger door. I have lubed everything as i read on the past theards. The locks move freely. everything seems to work as it should. I feel my next step is to replace the latch mechanism if i am stuck on fixing this problem. I discovered this issue when i installed VH Coachworks Remote power lock kit. The solenoids will not move the locks unless i push on the door. Any commits would be great.

Re: Door Latch and Lock Problem
Your latch has too much play in it. A new latch will work wonders. I had the same problem with mine.

Re: Door Latch and Lock Problem
I just went through this on my 71. I put in a new lock mechanism and re adjusted everything and now I can lock the drivers side door without pushing in on it.
