What should my STOCK C20 Custom wheels look like please?

I have been looking to replace the wheels that I currently have on the truck. They are some freebie 16's off of a newer Chevy. I'd like to get stock looking for 72 as I am adding disk brakes. Could someone please post pics of what they should look like? Soruces?

Thanks in advance,
vince

Should look like this only with chevy centers. Thes are the factory 16.5's on my 71 gmc.

I use 16 x 7 Ford truck/van rims like this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/92-97-Ford-F...5d7928&vxp=mtr
Just make sure they have a 8 x 6.5 bolt pattern.

Thanks!! I think one of the 4 I have on the truck looks like that...NOW to find the other 3 locally....Wish me luck.

The one on the rear is the one that looks correct. The front, not so much.

You're welcome.
Funny that you're from Arizona. I got my wheels from AZ on Ebay.

Stock one piece wheels were 16.5" as shown on this '72. White bumper trucks usually came with white hubcaps with black trim and blue bowtie.

Re: What should my STOCK C20 Custom wheels look like please?

This place may carry them - I've used them a few times and had no problems. Note - they sort by year/application, so the stock wheel that shows up is a 16.5" steelie, which is correct. But you can also use a stock 16" C20 wheel from later C20s - up through around 1988. That's what I did since there are a few more tire options with 16's. I got most of my set of 5 in junkyards (remember to take em to a tire shop to check for round before powder coating or otherwise wasting your time on em...), but I think I got 2 from these guys. Good luck. Out with the old, in with the new.... (btw, you can use this site to search for the 16's also - just search for a 1980-ish C20, they were all 16's by then I believe and it will steer you to the correct wheel, no pun intended... But BOTH will fit - and the Ford option is a good one also).

Those look really nice. Do they even sell those center caps new anymore? I checked LMC and Brothers just now, and I don't see them. As for the wheels, did you buy some old ones, and then paint them yourself?

Re: What should my STOCK C20 Custom wheels look like please?

nobody sells them - it's oem or nothin. Not impossible to find - but difficult to find in decent shape. There is a difference between the 69-72 "outies" and the 73+ "innies" (convex vs. concave bowtie area) but they're getting so hard to find nowadays that many are painting the gold bowtie of the 73+ 3/4 ton caps blue - because then the only barely visible difference is the caved in or pushed out center section. The one's in my and Sicklajoie's pics are "innies" whereas factorystock's painted ones are "outies". Wish I had nice outies, but hard to find em.

So, basically it sounds like even if someone is lucky enough to piece a set of 4 together, it can all end when a pothole causes one or more of them to ghost ride down the street and into a gutter lol.

Look up a board member too much stuff. Someone pointed me his direction and that's where I got my 15 inch set for my 72 K-10 and they're pretty nice. Now I'm just waiting on my last 15x8 Kelsey Hayes rim from Classic Chambered Exhaust to arrive.

There's no reason to use the "F" word. Even though I did consider them.

BTW Did find them and will order as soon as Christmas is over.... Have to watch the spending for a bit.

Thank you all and Merry Christmas.
