adjustable trac bar? What to use!

OK I bought a small adjustable trac arm that bolts to the stock mounts on rearend and frame rail when i static dropped my truck, I then decided to air bag it ,I used the basic bolt in c-notch and raised my bed wood floor a 1 1/2" to allow the rearend to sit all the way into the c-notch ,the problem I have is that the travel of the side motion of the rear end is still two much and at some point either with the suspension moving or me riding at different heights with the air bags the rear drivers side tire is rubbing the bed and chewed up my inside side wall , I can hear it sometimes when making a sharp right turn...so i know i need the longer trac bar that mounts to the passanger side trailing arm....my question is which one will work best for me? the CPP or Porter built? I have 0 income at the moment and had to sell stuff on ebay to fund buying the new trac arm so money is a factor and there is some differences in trac arms and cost.....

So heres CPP trac arm that cost's $109 and bolts to the stock frame rail mount and then to the trailing arm:
http://www.classicperform.com/Store/...k/6062DTBK.htm

Then heres porter built's trac arm that costs #149 that mounts to the trailing arm then they give you a new mounting point that bolts onto the frame rail which lowers the mounting point :
http://www.porterbuiltfabrication.co...e-Trac-Bar-149

I'm no expert on design but in my average joe mind the porter built looks like it is the better design with the lower frame rail mounting point because it mounts the trac arm level and would offer the least side to side movement with what ever ride height i decided to ride at??

I guess my question is would my problem be solved with the cheaper CCP trac arm that mounts at a angle from the stock frame mounting point to trailing arm?Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with either of these trac arms...if not for being flat broke i would just buy the porterbuilt, but hoping with shipping that it doesnt put me over, and why im considering the CCP and might be able to buy a replacment tire also but would hate to have to find out it doesnt fix my issue and have to end up buying the porterbuilt anyways....

just need a little insight? thanks guys

Re: adjustable trac bar? What to use!

CPP will work fine for what you're doing, but you get a LOT more product for only $40 more from PB...

Re: adjustable trac bar? What to use!

I went with a Porterbuilt trac bar and love it. CPP has horrible customer service, your $40 extra spent will be worth it.

Re: adjustable trac bar? What to use!

Thanks guys I was leaning towards porter built myself they seem to have quality parts from what i've seen, The cheap-guy in me was just making me was considering CCP, but not what i really wanted but $40 bucks is $40 bucks when your not working....I think Ill just suck it up and get the porterbuilt since my truck is my daily and what ill be using when work picks up and need it to be working properly...thanks guys i just needed advice and confirmation on what i knew i should do , and i think ill be happier with porterbuilt..

Porterbuilt "Porter" Relationship Explained (try not to get confused):

-Nate Porter (owner, designer, R&D, fabricator)

-Dick Porter (Nate's dad, AKA "Uncle Dick", runs production, tries to tell Nate what to do... sometimes Nate listens)

-Dave Porter (AKA "Cousin Dave, sales manager, Nate's secretary)

-Matt Porter (Dave's brother, Nate's other cousin, fabricator, works with Nate in the R&D building)

-We also have four other great guys that work with us in the production shop: Brooks, Jake, Greg, and Sal. Couldn't get it done without them.

This place truly is "Porter" built. I am lucky to have good guys surrounding me here and a bunch of them happen to share the same last name.

Thanks again Timmy for the order! We appreciate your business. Let us know if you have any further questions or needs.

Nate

This is designed for a mild drop application with coil springs or air bags.

The drop bracket only comes in the trac bar kit for mild drop applications. If you are planning to lay frame, the bracket is integrated into our notch.

I have a question Nate, will your bar clear the PML larger style rearend covers? What about the support type "girdle" performance ones?

I don't believe it will clear those covers.

I like that location of the shock bar across the front of the rearend and based on that photo a bar bent like that might fit my app fine...
