Re: trailing arms or four link?
Why are you swapping from leafs? Big power or just got an itch???
4-link or triangulated 3-link can be tuned to hook well at the strip and still give a great ride. But a tuned Cal-Trac setup will do the same thing for a whole lot less work and $$$ |

Re: trailing arms or four link?
The Porterbuilt trailing arm setup is very nice, and should give you a good ride. Are you wanting to keep everything under the bed? How low are you wanting to go?

Re: trailing arms or four link?
CPP prototyped its '73-87 Trailing Arm kit on my '79. I put 5,000 or so miles on it right away driving the truck on Americruise. That was back around 2007, and it still rides and handles great. I can tell you, you will sacrifice a little of the truck's ability to haul a heavy load, or do serious heavy towing.
Not a big deal for me, I've got a late model GMC for that stuff. Last edited by John Gilbert; 12-13-2012 at 04:41 PM. Reason: left out a wurd |
