Which drop shocks?

So I need to order a set of drop shocks for the rear suspension. I'm running 2" blocks and 2500 bags on the stock trailing arms with a c notch, so which size shocks do I need 2-5" drop?

Re: Which drop shocks?

FYI most companies part numbers for the rear drop shock is the same number for a front stock shock. Check CPP's catalog and you will see that their rear drop shock is the exact same part number as a front stock shock. I myself always run stock front shocks as rear drop shocks. Hope this saves you some money.

Hey Shawn,

What amount of drop do you run with the fronts on the rear? then what do you run in the front?

Thanks

Any drop of 4" or more and you can run the front shocks out back. In the front I'm running CPPs black majic drop shocks but I'm wanting to switch over to KYBs for a better ride. The black majics aren't the best in my opinion.

Re: Which drop shocks?

When we dropped my '69, I ordered the KYB's.

I've been trying to get an answer on here about my '96, but nobody had any input. So, I went to the KYB website (www.kyb.com) and found that they list a specific shock for the 2/4 drop on it. Nice info. Easy to use site. Check 'em out.

But, never let anyone try to convince you that leaf spring suspensions ride quality is as good a the '67-72's with their trailing arm suspension and coils. It ain't true!
