Blazer roll bar

I'm trying to find out what an original roll bar looks like. Not sure if mine is or not so I was wondering if someone could post a few pics. Here is what mine looks like.

Thanks,
Justin

Doesn't look like link is working, go to page 2 and scroll down about half way down to roll bar dimensions, pics and measurements

Re: Blazer roll bar

I don't think there was an 'original' roll bar, at least not from the factory. They were either dealer optioned or aftermarket. The most common style I've seen is the Hickey type, but I've seen a few like yours as well. I say if you like it, run it.

Yeah I've seen the hickey type also I actually like them better they look like they take up less room.

Re: Blazer roll bar

They were all aftermarket. There was never a GM dealer installed optional roll bar as there was with soft tops. The soft tops were listed and pictured in the sales brochures as an option that could be installed at the dealer and therefore were an "official dealer installed option". I have never seen a Chevrolet Blazer sales brochure indicating that a roll bar could be had in the same manner.

Re: Blazer roll bar

Crazy that about half of all Blazers you see have them installed. Kinda like the 'factory original' rally wheels...

You learn something new everyday. I was kind of wondering why I have seen so many different types of roll bars.

Re: Blazer roll bar

That's not an original type in the picture.

Mine has the Hickey that was in fact installed at the dealer when sold new here in AZ. Rarely do I see them much. They seem to be considered the bar installed typically in the 1st gen blazers. This question has seemed to come up alot the last few months. Maybe a picture of one should become a sticky.

Re: Blazer roll bar

I have the same roll bar as you. Of the "stock" ones I've seen I like these.

Re: Blazer roll bar

Those are not factory roll bars. The factory one's rear legs bolt to the front of the rear wheelhouse. WES

Re: Blazer roll bar

Here you go, some pics I have that may help.

Mine actually still has the original Hickey painted on stencil on top of it (shown in one of the pics) Once it's in the blazer it's hard to get a good pic of it but it should give you an idea.
