Re: Need help

You may need to state your problem more clearly. Are you saying that when the truck is idling, the fan doesn't work at any speed setting, or the fan does work, but there's no warm air coming from any of the vents, or something else?

Re: Need help

yea when iam in idle with the truck on I cant get no air flow through the vents. but when iam driving 65 mph or so the air blows fine is that just cause iam moving and maybe the fan isn't kicking in.

Re: Need help

Can you hear the fan? Does it run when driving slow?

The truck moving or sitting at idle shouldn't affect the blower motor.

Re: Need help

Google search for 67-72 chevy truck blower motor or heater. Lots of pics in images of what you the heater box looks like. Blower motor is in the engine compartment.

Re: Need help

thank you for the welcome. iam from Kansas. no the fan isn't blowing it mounted under the hood right by the firewall I traced the wire coming off it back into the cab and it runs up to the switch and a wire comes off it and runs over the the fuse panel but it is just hanging there not pluged into anything? do I plug it into a constant hot fuse or what?

Re: Need help

Sorry about the bad info above (blower motor under dash).... that's where it is in my other truck and I lost my head for a moment.....

The fuse box should be marked (might be hard to read) so you can find the correct fuse and rating for the fuse. The wire might be off for a reason though, the fuse box could be bad where that fuse sits. If you connect the wire to a hot lug, make sure it's only hot when the ignition is on. You'll need to also wire it through an inline fuse.

Re: Need help

ok I took the wire and put it on hot just to see if the blower motor would come on it does. so now all I need to do is put a in line fuse in it and then put it to a fuse in the fuse box that just comes on when I turn the key correct? thanks again guys

Re: Need help

You only need an inline fuse if you connect to an unfused lug on the fuse panel. If you are able to connect to an existing fuse in the panel, there will be no need for an inline fuse.

And yes, you want a source that is only hot when the ignition is on.
