difference between v8 and 6cyl clutch linkage

I wonder also. I don't think I have V8 linkage to compair with my L6 linkage. Are you talking L6 or V6 ?

i don't think there is any difference.
i changed from 250 l6 to 305 and bolted the mtr in the setback position-ie where the l6 used to sit and made up a rounded off bolt to go in the clutch bolthole on the side of the v8 block and then used everything from the l6 clutch setup without changing anything. it will be different if you want the v8 mounted further forward

Back when I had lots of extra everything, I remember have two different Z-bar styles, straight arms and bent/angled arms. I always thought that was the diff between 6 and 8 cylinder types.
