Tranny and Transfer case ???s

Where do you fill the transfer case with fluid? I have a NP208 on my Blazer and need to fill it. Also my tranny in my blazer(th350) will not shift out of first gear. Wondering if you guys can give me some insight on what to do. I am hoping that I dont have to get it rebuilt. I have a brand new filter and fluid in it. I was hoping I would get lucky and it would be fine but you know how that goes. I figure I will need to get it flushed and rebuilt. Hope you guys have some kind of good news for me.

Thanks,
Rusty

There's a fill nut towards the top of the transfer case if you're underneath looking towards the front of the vehicle. The fluid level should be just at the bottom of the hole.

will it shift if you manually shift it to 2. If it does it could just be a bad modualtor or no vacum to your modulator. good luck hopefully its simple

governor gear?

Know nothing about transmissions but on my 700r4 the plastic governor gear was broken not allowing to shift out of 1st. Don't know if the th350 is the same.

Thanks for the filling location Chevychic.

It wont go into first in anyway I try. It could be that governor gear I guess. Where is that located? I did also think it could be the modulator.

the govoner gear is actually built on the output shaft of your transmission if it is like the 700r4 I am not sure about the 350. but the principal should be the same.
