59 steering box
I am a new chevrolet guy, I just got a 1959 apache step side, and would like to add a tilt steering wheel. My question, Is the steering shaft, and steering column all one peice with the steering box, or does the column come off and leave the steering shaft and box as one?

They don't separate, the column and steering box are all one piece.

Take off the steering wheel and Pitman arm. Take off three speed linkage. Unbolt box ftom frame and pull out on firewall side. Do search on tilt column install, there is one current and many recent threads.
