Compressor problem

I've got air leaking out of the white plastic filter(?) on one of the Firestone compressors that are part of my Ridetech setup. It's audible, and cupping the filter quiets the noise. If this is an intake into the compressor and not an airline fitting would you say that there is a problem with a reed valve or check valve inside that would cause this problem? The system is relatively new. I haven't even driven the truck yet since installing all the Porterbuilt suspension.
Thanks.

Re: Compressor problem

I had air coming out of the intake on a Viair compressor I have. Come to find out, the connecting rod inside had come lose and scratched the cylinder wall. Is your fill time slow?

Re: Compressor problem

Somewhat slow. One of the guys in the shop busted that white plastic valve off the compressor, so we got 2 new ones from Ridetech. I wonder if that could have damaged something inside. Worked fine before that. Still haven't driven it though. What was your fix?

Re: Compressor problem

I sent it in for warranty. I'm not too familiar with firestone compressors though so I'm not sure what check valves got busted off on yours.
