you should'nt have to much trouble as long as you have the bbc frame towers and a pair of headers. i did use the sbc motor mounts due to the price of the bbc mounts being a little out of my league.. pm me anytime if you need more info

Re: my bbc swap

When we put the 454 in my 67 with a 69 frame we used the motor mounts from a '74 and they worked great. They gave plenty of clearance for the hooker headers I had.

We put the engine in with the front clip off.

Everything worked out real well, we did have to move the rear crossmemeber up and shorten it slightly.

Also we replaced the large stock starter with a high torque mini starter to allow for good clearance between the starter and headers.

Since it is done the problem I have with it now is since it is a swb stepper with a 454, 3.73 rearend and manual transmission is it seems the back tires always want to spin, lol.

Re: my bbc swap

I agree with shyguy a mini starter would be a good investment. The starter/header clearance is an issue I only have about 5/8 clearance between to two

The mini startes come in different qualities and prices. I got one from DB Electric's website.

We put it on the '74 454 in my '67. It is a PMGR starter and comes with the bolts and shims. We did not have to use the shims and so far it works real good.
