Has anyone replaced 70 3/4 ton rear wheel studs with 9/16?
Hi.
I have a 70 3/4 ton with free floating rear axle and am replacing front drums with disc. The front disc have 9/16" studs. Are there REAR studs that are 9/16" that are press in for the ones in there now?

Davepl modified his Longhorn to 9/16" studs for the same reason.

Thanks. My search didn't return any results. I must not have spelled correctly.

Re: Has anyone replaced 70 3/4 ton rear wheel studs with 9/16?
I did this on all four corners on a '70 CST/30 I had that I put chrome Budds on,since those were all made for later disc brake trucks. Just be sure to drill undersized so the stud splines will "cut" themselves in when pressed in.

I have a 1970 dana 60. I drilled out the hub and pressed in 9/16. I think in 71 they changed to the 9/16.

Maybe I'll just live with 1/2 on the rear for now. Maybe put disc on the rear later. I don't trust myself with a hand drill and I have given my drill press away. OR I guess I could find another drill press and resell on CL when I am done with it.

You don't need a drill press. Here is a link for studs. https://www.dormanproducts.com/catal...ec10_Part4.pdf

Re: Has anyone replaced 70 3/4 ton rear wheel studs with 9/16?
Thanks!! I'll remove one of the rears and find one with the knurl and length that is close. That really helps.
Thanks again.

Re: Has anyone replaced 70 3/4 ton rear wheel studs with 9/16?
You can go to autozone , use truck info and they list the 2 studs with all info per coil or leaf springs. That way you don't have to remove the stud to check.
