My 66 lwb fleet... and so it begins
picked up a daily driver reliable stock 66 lwb fleet. 250 3 speed column shift etc.solid old rust free Georgia truck and drives great.I got it for $2,500 and feel damn good about it.its plain jane but thats about to change...
the first thing I did was give her a good bath and change the goofy balloon tires and go with some 215 70 15 bridgestone pinner whites and then my buddy lowered it 4" while I was at work.he has a 65 and had already done his. i of course got rid of those bass boat mirrors too. Next I took out the old duct taped seat and redid it with 2 mex blankets 100 zip ties and 3 hours of my time start to finish. she is well on the way ... more pics to come the first was stock the day i got her

Dude, that looks awesome. You got a real great deal. I payed $2,600 and mine has rust issues out the ying yang. Post some more pics man!

Keep those pictures coming. got the exact same project going now with just a little rust What is your axle to frame clearance with that 4" drop? I was thinking about doing 5 and hopefully getting away with not notching the frame Posted via Mobile Device |

Thanks guys, not sure avout rear axle clearance but I hear that 5" blocks tequire cnotch and adjustable panhard bar.the seat was done with 2 mexican blankets and the seat was seperated and wrapped as 2 seperate pieces. It is pulled tight to the springs in back using several tiny zipties.

update: I made a set of kustom hubcaps by using a set of 55 oldsmobile caps and buffing off all painted surfaces and adding a center acc. bullet from Mooneyes.
also added a 4" peep mirror which looks a lot better than the big trailer mirror!

Man those hubcaps are great! I have a 66 and all I can say is I wish it could have started out as good as yours!
