Story Time.
Thought I would tell you a little story. Started in 2010 when it was time to buy me a new toy, after buying and restoring all my other toys in some form or fashion I told my wife I am going to buy me a 67-72 Chevy truck all ready done. After searching all over the country I finally found one to fit my criteria, big block ,automatic and A/C it was just about 200 miles from home.
After making arrangements to go check it out the man calls me and said the front wheel came off and damaged the passenger front fender, should have been a sign but I didn't listen. After it was fixed I bought it drove it home with no problems at all, that would be the last time I would be able to say that. After two days the first problem showed up, drop valves in #1 and #3 cylinders . I pulled the motor rebuilt it wanting about 400hp when it was all said and done I had 525hp and 630ftlb of torque yea!! but my mechanist told me I really should put a roller cam in it because the flat tappet cams have been breaking a lot did I listen no. After 11 miles the cam broke after another rebuild with a roller cam no problems. now comes the bad stuff, I take the truck to a buddy of mine with a body shop to do a little touch up on the paint, that has turned into a complete frame off restoration so I have done it up right. everything has been replaced. Thanks to this board for all the answered questions and the venders for all the parts. And thanks for letting me put this story out here. Moral to this story is everyone can get screwed so be careful what you buy.

Re: Story Time.
I have spent more on this truck than my first house cost. I do have the truck of my dreams now though, as soon as its done anyway. The smile on my face will be able to be seen from the space station lol.
