Am I screwed?

Trying to install cpp 5 lug axles and I found this. I believe this is supposed to be longer than this. I think previous owner broke it off. What do I do?

Re: Am I screwed?

if its broke off inside you may have to drill it out that would be my first thought

Re: Am I screwed?

This has been on the forum before , search it .. But that being said I have had the same thing happen and I resorted to a long brass drift and a very big hammer ,I just drove mine through ,it was pretty simple to shear the pin off with a good hamer , then the pieces pretty much tapped out with a hammer ...........

Re: Am I screwed?

The few times I've run across this, I was able to extract the remaining bolt part using a left-handed drill bit(bought mine thru Snap-On Tools)and a small air drill. Once you start drilling, if the bolt is not cross threaded it'll back out.

Re: Am I screwed?

LMAO I laughed so hard when I seen this, I am not sure if I should tell him to just use mine. It looks so deep and I did not see any way to get a drill in there. I should not laugh the longer you take to get this done the longer I have to work out in the cold.

Re: Am I screwed?

There is a company that makes a kit for extracting that broken bolt. I can't find the name of the company atm, but it was posted on here not long ago.

Have you tried using a magnet?

Re: Am I screwed?

I had one where the bolt came out but the pin would not. I beat on it with a 10# sledge and finally gave up and scrapped the rear end as I had another. It was all burnt and obviously destroyed anyways.
