Don`t know, you should ask the guy that told you about it.What do your springs measure now?I think you`d be better of with EZ-Rides than doing all that.

right now my springs measure 48". are you refering to Tuff country ez-rides? well i kinda have an idea now of what i am going to do. i am going to buy a set of 4 Bilstein 5100 or 5125 which ever work best and see if the helps my ride any. If i get custom springs, i will run Bilsteins with them no matter what. as for springs, i will probably go with a set of Deavers upfront, 2" blocks in the rear with a 4" ORD shackle flip. the rear might have to wait for a little while due to the cost of the front springs. i will let you all know how the ride changes with the new shocks as soon as i get them on. but please keep the ideas rolling in, i will still be checking the tread for other ideas. thanks for all of them so far.

I`m not sure what people mean by "ride good".Does it mean like factoty, soft,or firm?To me,it`s firm but not to the point it knocks you out of control.I don`t mind the "pounce" of leaf springs as long as it doesn`t pitch side to side and the shocks recoil back after a little give.Travel is important when jumping and articulating over uneven surfaces. But,on the road,a soft suspension has you rolling and pitching, dipping and swaying. To me that`s a poor ride. With solid axles & leafs you`re going to get a counter action from the opposing side no matter what. That`s why people "clip" early Chevys with independent car suspensions. That`s why GM has used IFS since`88.To most people "ride good" means smooth.Either way, that`s alot to ask from a Hotchkis without giving something else up.An old Cadillac rides smooth as silk. But rolls till the bumper scrapes in a slolem.A Mini-Cooper will corner like it`s on rails. But,rides like a rock and lifts one wheel before the body will roll.Nowadays the suspensions are way sofisticated and do it all,the best of all worlds.Definately not a century old design.

Re: Deaver Front Springs For Solid Axle Chevy

I have a 71 c-10 I really want to run deaver springs. I want the off road capabilities that they offer, also would like to run new shock locations for the best amount of travel. 6" lift with 35" tires. Does anyone have examples of this combination?
