I wanted the 'stock' look for my Jimmy, so I bought one. Looks awfully nice in the dash. I think I paid right at 600$. It's a lot but, oh well.

Re: NEW AM/FM Radio

i agree, the original i just bought (very nice, by the way, from dave) wasn't inexpensive, (but a very good price for a good condition original AM/FM), and when it's all said and done, it will sound like it did in 71. And that's what I personally want... I'm "good with that". But if you want original looks AND all the modern twinkies AND great sound, well, these (the new ones) are pretty sweet radios I believe. I'd probably buy from hagan also if I were in the market - he's been around a long time and I've seen some of his other work - top notch.

btw, I'm looking fwd to putting mine in when I re-do my interior (SOME day) - so I'll put in a word in for member DAVE - he was great to work with, stood by his product when I had a minor snafu with it on my end (i.e. fixed it for free), and the price was good in my book. (Thanks Dave).

Hey,I've been listening to music from '71 and earlier all evening,as I so often do. Nothing wrong with that old '71 stuff!!

Re: NEW AM/FM Radio

This is cool. I've got a '69 with a stock AM Radio. Look at the top rock songs for 1969. Some really good impactful stuff

Re: NEW AM/FM Radio

I'm really struggling with the audio part of my build. I like my music(hair metal) loud and obnoxious. I don't want to cut my dash, but I want to be able to use my Ipod. I really have no need for the FM/AM radio, but I still don't want to pay $175 to $695 for a two knob stereo that looks factory with those MP3 capabilities.

Especially when I can cut the dash and spend $100 on a decent modern Kenwood/Pioneer product.

You can always install a stock non working radio in the dash for the stock look, and install a modern stereo with MP3 aux input (or Bluetooth or whatever) and speakers under the seat. Check out my radio thread. Some guys gave some ideas about that

Re: NEW AM/FM Radio

That was probably the option I was leaning towards.
