Please help
ok first off thanks for all you guys help now my current problem is that i have done taken the dash apart to make it brighter i did it just like the thread said i took out the bezel also the clear plastic piece amd the plastic black piece also took out the gauges exept the speedo now i painted it chrome and put it all back its the brightest i love it but today my truck wouldnt start and the choke light came on and my windows wont roll down also my heater controls make the choke light brighter so how to fix this do i have ti get back in the dasj maybe a ground wire ??? please help Thanks

I checked all my connections today nothin still happens also checked fuses the only thing i saw is tgat the volts meter only has 2 connecters the others have 3 and my clock plugs in so i unplugged it still the choke light is on and my windows wont wrk any more advise ?

How far did you tear it apart? If you left the plastic housing in then you shouldnt have messed anything up. If you took it out all I can think of would be the guage harness plug at the back. Windows would be wierd because they are independant of the gauges. Would it have to do with your ignition? Windows dont work unless ign is on I believe but the lights are switched and turn on whether or not the igniton is on.

Im sorry i really dnt kno anything about these trucks have no clue on the ground issue i took the dash off and took the bezel the clear platc and the thin plasic i also took the gauges out exept the speedo and the circet board all i did was replace the light bulbs 2 were buned out the choke light gets brighter when i mess with the heater switches also when i try to move the windows i hear a noise like resistence or something

Sounds like a wire is arcing to another. That's the only thing I can think of that would causes non operational windows and the light. Also the parasitic draw.

Sound like you pinched a wire or have a loose one that is grounding out.

could the (chrome)paint be creating a current path?
check for over spray?

i checked for overspray and theres some on one of the lights bulb connectors by the speedometer on the left side could that be a problem ? do i need to get one at the junkyard or wat will help ?

ok how can i clean up the paint like alcohol or somthin ? i started my truck up this mornin and the windows worked great BUT when i turned my heater on it blew the fuse and i saw a spark in the dash where the left turn signal light is also the seat belt light turned off and no noise which is cool its annoying lol so the problem is just with my heater controls now i pluged back in my clock thinking that was the pro i got a new battery its not draining anymore wat can i do about the heater switches ? im tryin to follow the wires thers 4 a green one the rest ate brown and black which one can be ground ? should i just take it to the shop i dont want to cause theyll mess with my truck i hate that .

Is the fuse blowing when you turn the panel selector switch or when you turn the fan on/change speed?

ok well the choke problem with the windows came back it has something to do with my sterring colome like when i shift in to gear from park to drive the light comes on and the windos wont work it turned off when in park so weird anyone have this problem ???
